Hello! My name is Dylan. I’m from a part of Ireland called Wexford. It’s right down in the South-East corner of Ireland (So of you look at Ireland as a teddy bear sitting down, I live on the tail!) . I’m a Pharmacist by day and a stage actor/singer/dancer by night! So my life is like Batman’s! Well… Sort of… I’ve done about 40 full scale shows/plays so far.
When not doing that I’m often busy researching for my next adventure! I love taking photographs and my house is covered in stunning shots from my travels. Many of them, and more, are also on my Instagram!
I got the travel bug after taking part in The Rose of Tralee International Festival for two years. It was there that I made loads of new friends all over the world. They told me loads of stories about where they live. I decided to visit a few of them and just like that, I was hooked!
I’ve had some amazing experiences so far and I’m looking forward to load more! I have paddled a kayak the whole length of the magnificent Milford Sound in New Zealand, cycled across the Golden Gate Bridge, experienced the boiling mud pits and multicoloured natural lakes in Rotorua. I also got to march in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City (Twice!), go the top of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (the world’s tallest building), sky dive in Abel Tasman, New Zealand, get a selfie with a Kangaroo in Adelaide and sing on the stage in the Sydney Opera House (even if the auditorium was empty)!
So what do I mean by Notions on Tour? Well… Notions is an Irish expression to describe someone who’s fond of the finer things in life or who come across as a little bit posh. I have been known to do notion-y things at times. Sometimes when I’m away from home. Hence, Notions on Tour!
I hope to provide an honest view on travel. As I usually travel solo, I hope to give others the confidence to go to the places they’ve always dreamed and to experience everything they have ever wanted. Even if they don’t have anyone that wants to do the same! I hope to show you that you are in control of your own life experiences and all you have to do is to go out there and live your best life!
I can’t wait to share it all with you! So dive in, have a read and let me know what you think! Don’t forget, if you have any recommendations, tips or questions in general, feel totally free to get in contact! I’m always interested in a good recommendation!
